BOBBIE’S BUZZ: ECO-FRIENDLY FINDS

You know I love a good swap party, so this new website was right up my alley! Refashioner.com is an online clothing exchange that lets you recycle your wardrobe. Just upload pictures of those impulse buys that made their way into your closet but never made their way out, and wait for the Fashion Police to accept and price them. You then instantly get half the value of that price to “spend” on other items on the site. No money is exchanged but you’re bound to get great new fashions. Talk about a glamorous way to be green! To snag an invite, emailmembership@refashioner.com with Bobbie Thomas in the subject line, and include your favorite designer and a photo of the first item you would post. And for other ways to shop green, check out riostyles.com/rs andexboyfriendjewelry.com – two websites I’ve talked about previously due to their savvy swapping capabilities!

For a great way to keep your beauty routine green on the go, Pure Heat’s styling tools are not only cordless, but all made from recycled parts. And on top of using energy saving technology, a portion of proceeds from each sale is donated to the non-profit organization EarthShare ($17-136;amazon.com/hpc).

I also recently unearthed a natural beauty item; the Umbrian Clay powder from Fresh. The brand's "magic" multi-functional treatment is 100 percent comprised of the alkaline-rich earth from the Italian town of Nocera Umbra. ($18 and up; www.fresh.com)

And finally, I’ve recently come across eco-friendly jewelry designer Molly M’s beautiful work. Molly makes all of her jewelry from recycled felt, wool, suede, wood veneer scraps, and bamboo (the fastest growing plant on earth!), in her San Francisco studio. I love supporting made-in-the-USA brands – plus our entire planet – all at the same time ($36-56;mollymdesigns.com)!
