The BA graduate’s collection was the last word in ‘Rule Brittannia’ chic. Her models wore chiffon tunics and kaftans, printed with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The garments fluttered like pennants over neon-yellow sports-shorts and bra-tops. Other dresses were printed with the Union flag, or Union Jack, in shades of sage, navy and yellow, and wrapped around the body like a sarong or toga. The collection was paraded to a techno version of Elgar’s ‘Pomp & Circumstance’, with the models and the audience all waving paper flags. Graduate Fashion Week, which shifts the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ focus from entertainment to fashion, is the largest student event in the world. Being staged at Earls Court 2 exhibition centre, in west London, it features the work of some 1,000 BA fashion graduates from three dozen fashion colleges and universities around the country.Graduate Fashion Week: patriotic chiffon perfect for WAGs
