Cocaine Kate's carnival of excess as she marries her Z-list rocker (and at £500,000, here's hoping it lasts)

After all the dignity and gracious glamour of the Royal Wedding, now for something completely different.
Supermodel Kate Moss marries her rocker fiancé Jamie Hince next Friday in a £500,000 three-day extravaganza.
With her reputation, you can bet nothing will be out of bounds.
Already billed by some locals as ‘Moss-stock’, the 37-year-old has told friends she wants her wedding to out-do the other Kate’s and be ‘Glastonbury meets the Ritz’. Nicole Lampert is your guide...

THE BRIDE

Waif-thin supermodel Kate Moss has a reputation for partying. Caught on camera inhaling cocaine six years ago, after the loss of many of her modelling contracts and a brief spell in rehab, soon ‘cocaine Kate’ was busier than ever.
Moss, who is estimated to be worth £20 million, is stumping up all the money for the wedding and is determined it will be a bash no one will forget.
An unlikely Bridezilla, Kate is said to have become so stressed about her nuptials that she has had to see a ‘relaxation therapist’, and last week was in tears at her best friend Sadie Frost’s birthday party.
‘She wants this to be a party that no one will ever forget, and is putting herself under unbelievable strain,’ said one friend.

THE GROOM

Skinny jean-wearing rocker Jamie Hince’s band The Kills have plenty of street cred, but have barely turned a profit.
Kate loves him because he is rock ’n’ roll-cool but sensible with it; he knows how to keep her in line. Kate pays for everything in their lives, including his stag do, but he hates being known as ‘Mr Moss’. Born to middle-class parents in the affluent village of Woolton Hill, near Newbury, Berkshire, Jamie, 42, is remembered by his teachers as being a model pupil and he left the University of London college Goldsmiths with a first in playwriting.
He formed The Kills with American Alison Mosshart in 2000, and although they regularly play gigs they have never bothered the Top Ten.

THE CEREMONY

Despite her well known love of hedonism, a slither of tradition obviously has a hold on the bride. Kate is determined to have a church wedding, but has had trouble finding one big enough to hold her 300 guests.
She is believed to have settled on one several miles away from her Cotswolds home. Guests — who have still not been told where it will be — will be bussed to and from the church after meeting at her house.
The Church of England ceremony will take place on Friday afternoon and is likely to be presided over by The Rev Harry MacInnes, the young and trendy vicar of her local Cotswolds church, which Kate occasionally attends.
‘I couldn’t possibly comment,’ the vicar told  me when asked whether he would be officiating. ‘But I do know Kate and she is very much part of our community.’
Kate’s best friend Sadie Frost will do a reading, as will Jamie’s sister Sarah.

THE BRIDAL PARTY

Lila, Kate’s eight-year-old daughter with her publisher ex Jefferson Hack, will be chief bridesmaid.
Other bridesmaids and pageboys include Sadie Frost’s children Iris, ten, and Rudy, seven, party organiser Fran Cutler’s daughter Mercy, Kate’s 12-year-old half-sister from her father’s second marriage, and artist Jake Chapman and model Rosemary Ferguson’s three children.
Sadie’s sons Finlay, 20, and Rafferty, 14, are among the ushers.
Kate has already told twice-divorced Sadie that she is planning to throw her bouquet to her.

THE VENUE

The entire shindig will take place at Kate’s £2 million mansion in a sleepy Cotswolds village near Burford. The Grade II-listed, ten-bedroom, 19th-century house will not have known an event like it.
Kate has gone to every effort to make sure the grounds of her home are perfect for the party. There will be six marquees, and she has even had a small redbrick house built in the garden for some of her guests to stay in. There is even a helipad for her wealthiest friends.
She has employed landscape gardeners to ensure it all looks stunning and, like another Kate who got married this year, has ordered plenty of trees in pots for the big day.
Eager that the daytime part of the wedding should be like a big pool party, she has had a Health and safety executive official check out her swimming pool to make sure there are no hidden dangers.
‘Her biggest fear is that there should be something like the Barrymore incident [in 2001 the body of a man was found in the pool after a party at Michael Barrymore’s house],’ says a source. ‘She’s left nothing to chance.’

MOSS-STOCK

THE DRESS:

Kate has held firm with her chosen dress designer John Galliano despite the small matter of his rehab and on-going court case following several racist outbursts while drinking in Paris.
The dress had largely been designed before John’s problems exploded, and Kate has been overseeing its creation with his team, including his boyfriend Alexis Roche.
The only thing that friends know is that it is white or cream and is surprisingly traditional.
It is likely to be 1920s-style vintage to go with her engagement ring, a £10,000 diamond inspired by a ring belonging to Zelda Fitzgerald,  the party-girl wife of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Kate is also known to have had several meetings with close friend and designer Stella McCartney.
It is likely that Stella has designed some less formal ‘wedding-style’ outfits for the long weekend.
Kate is hoping that as many of her friends as possible will attend the full three days of festivities — and there really will be no expense spared.
After the ceremony, the event will kick off with a formal dinner organised by the team at China Tang — the restaurant in the exclusive Dorchester Hotel is Kate’s favourite.
Kate has also paid for a team to come over from the Ritz in Paris to oversee the food for the following two days, which will include barbecues, roasts and a full selection of vegan food for the vegetarian groom and other guests.
The drinks will be organised by an events team from the London nightclub Mahiki. Kate particularly loves the club’s Mahiki rum.
She has also ordered several lorries full of Grey Goose Vodka, Red Bull and Dom Perignon champagne. There will be a special cocktail menu in honour of the happy couple.
Meanwhile, Jamie has asked for an extensive wine menu; he is a lover of Cotes Du Rhone in particular.
Guests will not have to lift a finger. Mahiki’s team include a cocktail ‘mixologist’ and wine sommelier, as well as plenty of waiters.
A stage has been built and guests will get to see the newlyweds perform several songs together.

Kate, who is a frustrated musician, is planning to do plenty of singing. She is hoping to lead a karaoke-style singalong, with many of her guests taking their turns on the stage.
There will also be performances from the U.S. rapper Snoop Dogg and her former boyfriend Pete Doherty’s ex-Libertines bandmate Carl Barat. Other performers are rumoured to be American singer Beth Ditto, who fronts the band The Gossip, and ageing rocker Iggy Pop.
There will also be a beauty tent filled with manicurists and massage therapists for those who fancy an hour off from pure hedonism.
It is not all going to be about the adults, though. There will also be several children’s entertainers, and the young party-goers will be preparing a play to put on over the weekend.
Kate has booked out many local hotels to accommodate her guests and others will stay in her house. At the end of the big event, there will be an Oscars-style goodie bag. Kate’s assistant Fiona Young has been phoning practically every PR in the fashion business to blag some goodies for the bags, which are said to include items from Mulberry as well as cosmetics.

THE TOP TABLE

‘Kate’s been having a nightmare over the table plan,’ says one friend. ‘And she is particularly panicked about the top table.’
For a start, her parents can’t stand each other. Linda, who is a lot like her daughter, left Peter more than 20 years ago for Geoff Collman, described as a flashy wheeler-dealer. She loves her designer handbags and the high life.
Peter has since remarried, but there has never been much love lost between the two couples. Then there are Jamie’s parents. William and Carole are still married, but as a formal pair they are very different to Kate’s folks. A dinner for the parents last month at Heston Blumenthal’s London restaurant Dinner did not bode well. ‘It was apparently quite excruciating, with lots of awkward silences,’ adds the source. ‘They are very different sorts of people.’

THE GUEST LIST

THE PARTY POOPERS:

Not everyone will be indulging in the copious amounts of alcohol on offer.
Kate may have escaped rehab unscathed.
But many of her former Primrose Hill posse are on the wagon after indulging a few too many times in the past and will have to enjoy the 'virgin' alcohol-free cocktails.
These include best friend Sadie Frost and Meg Mathews, the former wife of Oasis star Noel Gallagher, who have both been alcohol-free for years.
Let’s hope John Galliano joins them.
The bride has had a lot of trouble keeping her guest list down to 300. But she has not cut off many of her more controversial friends.
Her hairdresser best friend James Brown — who recently admitted calling a black television presenter ‘n****r’ eight times, later making a public apology — will be doing her styling on the day. He will also have pride of place at the wedding.
As will John Galliano, whose recent anti-Semitic outbursts included telling one woman, who he believed was Jewish: ‘I love Hitler … People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all by f*****g gassed.’
He is presently trying to convince a French court that he’s not really racist, just an addict.
Typically, Kate has agreed with both that their bad behaviour was down to drink.
But Galliano is not her only friend to have shown themselves to have an obsession with the Nazis: in 2005, fellow wedding guest Bobby Gillespie, the lead singer of Primal Scream, made the Nazi salute and defaced a ‘Make Poverty History’ poster so that it said ‘Make Israel History’; while controversial British artist Jake Chapman and his brother Dinos once used watercolours painted by Hitler within their work.
There are also plenty of slightly less controversial figures.
From the world of fashion there will be Naomi Campbell, Vivienne Westwood and Kate’s modelling boss Sarah Doukas.
Although Kate no longer works for Topshop, her ‘adopted uncle’ Philip Green, the billionaire behind the chain, will also be a guest, along with his daughter Chloe and wife Tina.
Stella McCartney will be there with her sister Mary, who will act as unofficial photographer for the weekend, alongside artists Tracey Emin, sculptor Marc Quinn (famous for fashioning a sculpture of his head made out of frozen blood) and the secretive graffiti artist Banksy.
Showbiz stars on the list include actor Rhys Ifans, Jude Law, Jade Jagger and Jo Wood and her children.

THE NO-SHOWS

Kate has had her fair share of fallings-out and former friends not invited include Lily Allen, singer-turned-fashion-designer Pearl Lowe and former Hollyoaks actress Davinia Taylor.

THE ROYAL LINK

Kate is, according to one friend, obsessed with making her nuptials even more memorable than the Royal Wedding. She has considered doing a royal spoof — perhaps with Jamie and her sitting on thrones.
But the two weddings are linked by one man, photographer Mario Testino, who produced the engagement and wedding souvenir photographs for William and Kate.
The Peruvian, who has worked with Kate Moss for more than 20 years and is releasing a book on her later this year, will also be her official wedding photographer.

THE PRESENTS

No charity gift donation suggestions for these two. Kate and Jamie have lists at Liberty, fine wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd and antiques shop Talisman.
Some of the presents on the list include a vintage cocktail shaker for £4,750, 14 crystal ashtrays costings £240 each, a £50,000 cutlery service and a £6,600 silk rug.
The happy couple have already received an accordion from Lady Gaga, who is unable to make it on the big day, and a neon heart saying ‘I Love You’, worth around £150,000, from Tracey Emin.

THE PRE-NUP

Ah, yes; this girl’s not all rock ’n’ roll. She and Jamie signed a prenuptial agreement last month ensuring that he will not be  entitled to half Kate’s millions should they divorce.
Love’s young dream, eh?
