Le New Boom Boom Room?

For the second year in a row, theJalouse Rocks Paris festival is bringing some of the hottest young musical acts (this year: Harlem, I Blame Coco, and We Have Band, among others) to Paris for a three-day concert series. Through Saturday, they’ll play at clubs around the city, including André Saraiva’s Le Baron and Chez Moune, so to kick things off, Saraiva hosted a dinner last night at his Hotel Amour. Harlem’s Curtis O’Mara, Michael Coomer, and Jose Boyer finished off the soirée in garage mode, and a dense crowd of actresses, fashion types, and cognoscenti were there to listen in: DJ Pedro Winter, stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington, Olivier Zahm and Caroline Gaimari, Anouck Lepère, and Josephine de la Baume among them. That’s a crowd to glad-hand if ever there was one, but Saraiva himself spent much of the evening with his latest discovery, a seductive blonde named Ashley, who he had shot that day for a series to be displayed in the windows of Paris’ department store Printemps in July. (That’s Ashley, left, sandwiched between Zahm and Saraiva.) But by then, he’ll be in New York: Saraiva is set to take up residence for a year in a new Chinatown loft. In theory, it’s a transatlantic jaunt to pursue his interests—”I want to do more art,” he told us—but of course, he’s interested in the party circuit, too. “I’ve been working with André Balazs on the Boom Boom Room, and I’m opening a club next door this summer called Le Bain,” a.k.a. “the bath,” named in homage to the legendary Paris nightspot Les Bains Douches. “There’s going to be a pool and a terrace with grass for people to roll around on.” We’re guessing the line starts today.
