Had an accident Courtney? Ms Love slips into a sophisticated black gown... but sports odd purple elbows

She regularly shocks on the red-carpet with her revealing and sometimes wacky attire.

But while Courtney Love slipped into a refreshingly sophisticated black gown for the premiere of the documentary Tabloid in Mew York tonight, the 47-year-old sported some odd purple patchy elbows. 

The discolouration appeared to be a nasty bruise or perhaps some dry patchy skin.

And it certainly seemed to be bother Courtney as she was well aware of her injury.

The singer was later seen clutching her  limb as she continued to pose on the New York City pavement.

Despite the discolouration, the Hole singer looked glamorous in her slinky gown, which clung to her slim figure in all the right places and had an intricate and sexy back with it's tiny straps. 

Courtney accessorised with a plethora of diamonds in the form of some bracelets, hoops earrings and rings. 

She wore her blonde hair in a tousled bob and had minimal make-up on her complexion, letting her lips stand-out with some rose red lipstick. 

Tabloid is an American documentary that 'tells the story of a former Miss Wyoming, Joyce McKinney, whose quest for one true love led her across the globe and onto the pages of tabloid newspapers'.

Courtney meanwhile, has once again been unlucky in love, recently splitting from boyfriend Henry Allsopp.

Last month, the Hole singer moved out of her former flame's London mansion after agreeing to separate just nine months into their relationship.

Their whirlwind romance began last October, when the 46-year-old moved in with the British aristocrat one month after meeting him.

A source told the Daily Express: 'She had moved in within a month of meeting Henry last November and made herself quite at home.

'Most of the family were alarmed by how besotted he was and feared she had delusions of landing herself a title.

'She used to joke about becoming Lady Love.'

Allsopp, 37, is an art dealer who is also the godson of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and brother of TV presenter Kirsty Allsopp.

Despite their short-lived romance, Courtney even credited Henry with 'saving' her after she moved in with him to 'detox' from prescription drugs.

The serial dater has already indulged in several flings following husband Kurt Cobain's death in 1994.

Courtney has shared her bed with Smashing Pumpkins star Billy Corgan, Fight Club actor Edward Norton and Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor.

The mum-of-one also seems to have a taste for British comedians, having enjoyed brief spells with Russell Brand, Noel Fielding and Steve Coogan.
