A/W 10' is about drapes, layers & frosted tones - Ritesh Kumar

Ritesh Kumar the leading Indian Designer conceptualized his label Ritesh Kumar Ridzyn in 2008, which stands for avant-garde ideas dissolving in cutting edge innovative solutions.

The designer is based in New Delhi as an independent fashion designer, artist and photographer. His label Ritesh Kumar “Ridzyn” is showcased every season at Wills Fashion Week in New Delhi. He also has been selected to represent India amongst emerging global talent at the Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo in March 2010.

He has been also been the finalist in International Young Designers Fashion Week, Moda Estremadura - Badajoz, Spain. His photographic works have been showcased in solo exhibitions at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, and other galleries.

His ambition of personal expression is through a hybrid of medium: fashion, photography, painting, graphics & writings, with which he reflects his translations of what he observes and assimilates.

Ritesh thinks of an alternate reality of fashion, which questions genres of couture - prĂŞt - street wear and provokes stereotype notions of beauty - glamour - luxury. The brand proposes a hybrid sensibility, where essential nature and inevitable man-made do not fight for space but coexist to redefine future wardrobe.

Created in 2008, Ridzyn collections easily blend day to evening wear with intelligent mix and match of directional fashion separates and ensembles. Ridzyn is currently retailing in India and abroad from selected fashion stores.

Ritesh Kumar is an alumnus of Domus Academy, Milan - Italy (2005) and National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi - India (2003).

At present, Ritesh Kumar is working on a hybrid sensibility, where essential nature and inevitable man made synthetics do not fight for space but coexist to redefine future wardrobe. Multi-dimensional integration of synthetic and natural, with a steady gaze towards future, forms his core area of interest.

Extremely excited about his latest collection, which is the second edition of the annual fashion calendar. Speaking exclusively to fibre2fashion, Ritesh shared about his design sensibilities, inspirations and more.

When we asked him about his design philosophy in general as a designer, he said, “I believe in mixing a lot of styles, genres, materials and aesthetics to generate new modalities of fashion clothing, as, I think originality is application based in the beginning and a lot of permutations and combinations of elements can lead to inventions someday”.

We asked him to elaborate a little about his design signatures to which he responded by saying, “I mostly work with subtle or deep colors with my favorites being, shades of grey. Lately I have been using a lot of vinyl details extracted from PVC pipe pieces and vinyl sheeting. I try to push symmetrical design mostly with an emphasis on amalgamation of technical construction with draping”.

Celtic boss departs after humiliating thrashing

Mowbray makes Bhoys exit

Mowbray: Leaves Celtic

SKY BET ODDS
Neil Lennon is the 11/8 to be Celtic's next permanent manager.Bet now.

Celtic have sacked manager Tony Mowbray following a woeful campaign in Scotland's top flight, with Neil Lennon agreeing to take over.

Mowbray's assistant manager Mark Venus and Peter Grant have also lost their jobs on Thursday.

The Bhoys were expected to challenge Rangers for the SPL title this season, but are currently well adrift of their arch rivals.

Celtic missed the chance to close the gap on Wednesday following a humiliating 4-0 thrashing at the hands of St Mirren.

Mowbray was named Gordon Strachan'sreplacement last summer, but the ex-West Brom tactician has found the Parkhead faithful a tough crowd to win over.

Strachan won the SPL title three times in four years while Celtic's defeat to the Buddies was their 13th of the season under Mowbray.

    Disappointment

Chairman John Reid has expressed his disappointment at the way Celtic's season has unfolded, stating Mowbray has always acted with great dignity.

"On behalf of the board and everyone at Celtic, I would like to offer Tony Mowbray my thanks and sincere best wishes for the future," said Reid.

"Tony is held in great affection by Celtic fans and it is obviously with great disappointment that we make today's statement.

"During his period here, Tony has always acted with great dignity as he has done today.

"We are all Celtic supporters, faithful through and through, Tony included. We are all disappointed at the way things have gone this season.

"However, as supporters, we will collectively build again to re-establish the club to its pre-eminent position within Scottish football."

    Very proud

Reacting to his departure, Mowbray said: "Naturally, I am very disappointed to be leaving Celtic.

"I am very proud to have not only managed but also played for a club with such great tradition and that has tremendous roots in football history.

"I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all of the players and also to my staff who supported me so well. Finally, I would like to wish the club every success in the future."

Reserve-team coach Lennon has been asked to take over for the remainder of the season and he has accepted the post.

    Nani signs new United deal

    Nani: Emerging talent

Manchester United winger Nani has signed a new contract which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2014.

The Portuguese has started to fulfil his potential this season after being asked to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Real Madrid last summer.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been suitably impressed and believes there is still more to come so has ensured the 23-year-old will stay with United.

Ferguson told his club's official website: "Nani is an emerging talent within the team and has developed tremendously since joining the club.

"We are delighted he has signed a new contract and I am sure he will have a long and successful future here at Manchester United."

Nani, who signed for United in July 2007 from Sporting Lisbon, said: "I am delighted to have signed a new contract. It has been like a dream come true to play for Manchester United.

Cook caught up in Toffees row

City defend chief executive in boardroom row

Cook caught up in Toffees row

      Cook: Asked to explain actions

Everton have written to Manchester City chief executive Garry Cook following an alleged boardroom row with an Everton fan.

The game was overshadowed by a bust-up between managers Roberto Mancini andDavid Moyes near the end of the game and now it seems trouble has spilled over into the boardroom.

Reports suggest Cook had a stand-up row with George Downing, who was a guest of theGoodison Park club for Everton's 2-0 win from the directors' box at Eastlands on Wednesday.

Cook and Downing, a regular guest of the Everton board, are alleged to have exchanged words in the directors' box before the latter, who was attending the game with his wife, was asked to leave.

Everton have now written to Cook to demand an explanation following the incident.

City, though, are bemused at his and Everton's reaction to the episode and are denying any wrong-doing from their chief executive, believing that he was merely reacting to Downing's behaviour, which they claim was inappropriate.

City are claiming that near the end of the match Downing joined the Everton supporters singing of their impending victory while still in the directors' box. City claim he directed at least one chorus of this at Cook, though this is denied.

Everton contacted Cook on Mr Downing's behalf on Thursday and a spokesman said: "We have written to Mr Cook asking for his observations with regard to the incident."

Relations between the two clubs have been strained since Joleon Lescott's controversial £22 million transfer from Goodison Park to Eastlands last August, when City were accused of deliberately unsettling the England defender during their attempts to lure the player away from Merseyside.

        Carvalho blow rocks Blues

Experienced centre-back ruled out for at least four weeks

        Carvalho blow rocks Blues

        Carvalho: Injury woe

Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho is facing at least four weeks on the sidelines and could require surgery on damaged ankle ligaments.

The Portugal international suffered the injury in the first half of Wednesday night's 5-0 victory over Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Centre-back Carvalho limped off the field in the 37th minute following a challenge with Aaron Mokoena, with burly Brazilian Alex taking his place alongside John Terry.

The former Porto player will now miss several key fixtures for the Blues as they chase Premier League and FA Cup glory.

Carlo Ancelotti will be without the talented defender for the crucial Premier League meetings with Aston Villa and Manchester United on the next two Saturdays.

          Surgery

Carvalho will also be absent when the Stamford Bridge side travel to Wembley on 10th April to tackle Villa in the FA Cup semi-final.

And he could be forced to go under the knife in a bid to cure the problem, with the club waiting to discover if an operation is needed, which could put his World Cup hopes in jeopardy.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Chelsea can confirm that Ricardo Carvalho suffered ankle ligament damage in last night's game against Portsmouth.

"The club will be able to determine over the next 24 hours whether the injury requires corrective surgery, however we can confirm at this point that he'll be out for at least four weeks."

Chelsea moved back to within one point of leaders United with Wednesday's thumping victory, while London rivals Arsenal are just one point further back in third.

Wenger - We must be perfect

          Arsenal boss demands magnificent seven

We know our route has to be perfect. To be perfect it is important we focus on our performances.

          Arsene Wenger.
          Quotes of the week

          SKY BET ODDS

Arsenal are now priced at 9/4 to claim the Premier League title this season. Click here to bet.

Arsene Wenger has called on Arsenal to produce a flawless finish to the season as they battle to secure the Premier League crown in an enthralling title race.

The Gunner are just two points adrift of leaders Manchester United and one behind fellow challengers Chelsea with seven games of the season remaining.

Wenger has seen his side written off twice this term, but they have defied the odds to remain firmly in contention on the back of six successive victories.

Defending champions United and the Blues have both dropped points in that spell to ensure that the battle for glory remains too close to call entering the home straight.

The French tactician believes the Emirates Stadium outfit cannot afford to drop any more points and knows they must also rely on their rivals slipping up.

            Momentum

Wenger told Sky Sports News: "There are three teams in the race and it is down to the team who are the most consistent. We can only focus on our own performances.

"We know our route has to be perfect. To be perfect it is important we focus on our performances.

"We need some help from the other teams, but we know that will only work if we are consistent and keep our momentum.

"We have created a fantastic momentum and we have created a great belief within our squad. The consistency of our run is the most important."

Arsenal's last domestic defeat came in early February at the hands of Carlo Ancelotti's men at Stamford Bridge, but since then they have been in irrepressible form.

            Targets

And Wenger believes the team spirit developed in that run after being ruled out of contention by many pundits can help them across the finishing line.

He added: "We want to keep the spirit, the hunger, the desire and the intelligence we have shown until now.

"For a long time we have fixed ourselves targets. We play every game like our life depends on it and it has been like that for a long time now.

"We need to bring consistency to our attitude. We have a remarkable attitude, a remarkable spirit in the team, and must just continue like we do."

            Rocha accuses Malouda

            Rocha is stretchered off

Portsmouth defender Ricardo Rocha has accused Florent Malouda of deliberately hitting him in the face and feels the Chelsea man should have been sent off for the offence.

Rocha was stretchered off during Wednesday's 5-0 defeat to Chelsea after appearing to be caught in the face by an elbow from Malouda.

Former Tottenham man Rocha was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured cheekbone, but it has been discovered he only suffered bad bruising in the incident.

"I think it was a bad one from Malouda," Rocha was quoted as saying in The Sun. "He just hit me and did not try to get the ball.

"The pain was so great I thought something was badly damaged. That is why I went to the hospital.

"These kind of actions are dangerous and it should have been a red card. But he just got a yellow."

              Innocence

Meanwhile, Malouda has protested his innocence and says Rocha had no problem with him after speaking to him at the end of the game.

"I went in their dressing room after the game and Rocha had just come back from the hospital," said Malouda.

"He has not broken anything and it is not as bad as it looked. He said no problem and it is OK.

"When I jumped I was only looking at the ball. I didn't mean to hurt him."
