Shah Rukh tweets for hockey players

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan aka Chak De India's Kabir Khan feels awful for Indian hockey players revolting against the establishment for their unpaid dues and has tweeted his disgust at the latest crisis to rock the national sport.

Khan, widely praised for bringing the pathetic state of Indian hockey into limelight with his portrayal of a disgraced player who goes on to become a celebrated coach in the 2007 blockbuster 'Chak De India', supported the revolting players in his latest tweet.

"(I) feel awful for the Indian hockey team. To play for the country...national sport and have to ask for salary and we complain we don't win gold (medals)," Khan, who himself was a hockey player before becoming an actor, said on his 'Twitter' page.

Julianne Moore wants to do more comedy

Julianne Moore wants to do more comedy

Hollywood actress Julianne Moore, who has done serious roles in films like Savage Grace and Hannibal, wants to show some "variety in her acting" by doing more comedy roles.

The 49-year-old actress says she would love to tackle a movie similar to the Cameron Diaz-starring There's Something About Mary, the Telegraph reported.

"I though Cameron Diaz was great in that movie. I really enjoy watching all that kind of stuff. Really you want to have variety as an actor. If you spend your career doing one thing solidly, people get burned out," the actress said.

"I like any kind of situational comedy. It breaks my heart that I'm not going to be in it."

But Moore is not interested in doing theatre because of her commitments as a mother. She has two children-- Caleb, 12 and Liv, seven.

"It's very difficult to do when you have kids because the hours are fairly extreme. I did find it particularly difficult to do Broadway. It was not my favourite way to perform. When I do theatre I like it to be smaller, I like the audience to be closer, I like it to be less presentational," she said.

Sachin Tendulkar: Living legend of cricket!

Living legend of cricket! Sachin Tendulkar, the one of the most successful batsman in the world of cricket with lots of world records in his kitty has recently made the new record of making highest run in an ODI.

He broke the record of Pakistani batsman Saeed Anwaw (194) by hitting two centuries and remained unbeaten in the second ODI against SA.

Anwar in his reaction over Sachin’s achievement said,”If any person deserved to do better than me it was Tendulkar. I am happy for him, there are no real regrets.”

“Come on Sachin my friend get your 200. World record to please! You deserve it… Nervous for my good friend Sachin everything crossed for you mate… Glad I’m not bowling to him today ha ha ha,” Shane Warne tweets as he nears the double-century.

“Better than Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting, the other two great players of my era. Better than Sir Viv Richards, Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border. And I would even say better than Sir Don Bradman himself,” reacted Nasser Hussain.

Sachin Tendulkar, Indian Cricket fans

Sachin Tendulkar, Indian Cricket fans

It was always something that bothered me. The highest score of Sachin Tendulkar in test matches came against Bangladesh and the master does not have a triple hundred in his resume. It pained even more to remember that the highest score in one dayers belonged to Saeed Anwar who made 194 against India in the Independence Cup.
So when Tendulkar became the first person to score 200 in one dayers in the ongoing series between India and South Africa, I like millions of Indian cricket fans felt redeemed. That it came against one of the stronger teams made this latest feat of Sachin even more special. It is hard to imagine any other batsman going that far, but even when the feat is repeated or exceeded, the record books shall always show the name of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar as the first man to climb to this mark. Sometime back, Sachin made a 150 plus score against Australia and still India finished on the losing side. That innings, in my humble opinion should be rated as one of the best of the master. Probably, an Indian win would have kept that innings in our memories. Let us not forget the back to back hundreds made in Sharjah. There is another innings that can match this latest knock of Sachin-the 175 not out of Kapil Dev in the Prudential World Cup of 1983. When half of the side was back in the pavilion and the days when 100s were not common in the one dayers, Kapil showed the way.Of course, there was no one to record that innings for posterity, unlike the 200 of Sachin that surely will be viewed many times even in future. Just as Sachin was being written off as a matchwinner, he managed to set a benchmark that may become one of the most long standing records in the history of cricket.
