This weekend in Chicago: Swap-o-rama-rama. Founded byWendy Tremayne in her quest for creativity, the event experienced several successful editions in cities around the USA. Wendy’s motto is: we need creators, not consumers and this is exactly what the events are all about. Swap-o-rama-rama consists of a giant clothing swap and many DIY workshops that help the swappers transform their finds into something unique. During a big fashion show, they are able to show off their own creations on the catwalk.

If you’re up for a fun and inspiring weekend, bring your friends and some bags of old clothes and head down to the Chicago Waldorf school on 1300 W Loyola Ave. Swap all those abandoned clothes from the back of your closet for something new and then get creative! At Swap-O-Rama-Rama you get access to everything from sewing machines to silk screens, and all the supplies and coaching you’ll need to make an amazing garment, some new accessories, or anything you can dream up. Entrance is $20 and 100% of proceeds will be donated to good causes. View the whole program on the website of Chicago Swap-o-rama-rama.
