Thai new cabinet members list submitted for royal approval

Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said Sunday that the list of new cabinet members has been submitted for royal command.


The prime minister told reporters that the list has already been submitted before departing for Vietnam to join the World Economic Forum on East Asia scheduled to be held from June 6-7.

The Mathichon online quoted reports from Abhisit-led Democrat Party as saying that 6 cabinet members have been replaced, among them three from the Democrat. They are Labor Minister Phaitoon Kaeothong, Culture Minister Teera Slukpetch, Science and Technology Minister Kalaya Sophonpanich.

Another three ministers under the quota of coalition party Puan Pandin are removed from cabinet. They are Industry Minister Charnchai Chairungrueng, Information and Communication Technology Minister Ranongruk Suwanchawee and Deputy Finance Minister Pruektichai Damrongrat.

New faces expected are Democrat MP Juti Krairerk as new Information and Communication Technology Minister, Democrat MP Nipit Intarasombat as new Culture Minister, Democrat MP Chalermchai Sri-on as new Labor Minister, Democrat MP Ong-art Klampaiboon as new Prime Minister's Office Minister, Puan Pandin Party MP Chayos Jiramethakorn as new Deputy Education Minister and Mun Pattanotai from Matubhum Party as new Deputy Finance Minister, the Mathichon said.
