Elena Baltacha lost in the second round of the Sony Ericsson Open, ending British interest in the women's singles. The British number one went down in straight sets against world number 14 Yanina Wickmayer to follow compatriots Heather Watson and Anne Keothavong out of the Miami tournament. Baltacha had beaten Iveta Benesova in the first round but facing Wickmayer proved a far tougher assignment, the Belgian marching through the first set 6-1. Kiev-born 26-year-old Baltacha put up more of a fight in the second set, saving six of her opponent's nine break points before eventually succumbing 6-3. Wickmayer, a semi-finalist at last year's US Open, goes on to face Croatia's Petra Martic in the third round. Former world number one Ana Ivanovic also reached the third round, beating Frenchwoman Pauline Parmentier 6-4 6-3 to break a career-long four-game losing streak and secure her first win on the WTA Tour since January. The Serbian, who benefited from a first-round bye as the 25th seed, overcame six double faults on her way to victory. Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, the sixth seed, defeated Russia's Ekaterina Makarova 7-5 6-0, while 13th seed Marion Bartoli prevailed 6-2 6-4 over Slovak Magdalena Rybarikova.Wickmayer ends Baltacha run
