The winners of Triumph Inspiration Award

Students from Britain, Australia and Israel are the winners of The International 'Triumph Inspiration Award 2009'. Would you like to wear their designed…?

The International 'Triumph Inspiration Award 2009', a global lingerie design competition for young fashion and design students from 28 countries around the world was held in Milan, Italy this September.



The idea of the competition was for students from leading fashion design schools worldwide, to design a set of lingerie following a certain concept, this year the concept was 'icons'; to interpret an icon they have freely selected on their own and then create a one-of-a-kind design showpiece made up of one bra and one pair of briefs.


The prizes included a 15,000 Euros cash prize, along with the opportunity to adapt the winning design together with the Triumph design team into a commercial underwear set, which will be distributed to Triumph stores around the world as a limited line. Second and third place winners received 10,000 and 5,000 Euros respectively. All national winners received a chance to take part in the International Finals during the Milan Fashion Week.



The list of judges included Academy Award winner Hilary Swank, chief editor of Vogue Italy Franca Sozzani, Miss Sixty CEO Wichy Hassan, Italian fashion photographer Giovanni Gastel, International model Qi Qi and Triumph International's global head of sales & marketing Jan Rosenberg.


3rd place winner was Israeli designer Shani Elkin, from Shankar academy, with her 'Jerusalem' model (that is Israel's first win in the competition), 2nd place went to Australian designer Katinka Poole with her 'Harbour Mirage' model and 1st place winner is British designer James Nolan with his 'Odette & Odile' model.
